Position Overview

The Event Operations Manager will be an experienced individual responsible for the complete operational management, including full budgetary control, of several allocated medium to large flagship events and awards globally, industry leading physical and virtual events ensuring achievement of desired profit margin returns and elevated levels of customer satisfaction. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an elevated level of customer satisfaction from attention to customer needs along with a high level of responsiveness  
  • Managing end-to-end management and delivery of 3 – 5 global events each year of varying size, format, and complexity, working closely with the Head of Operations 
  • Develop creative solutions for new event revenue streams 
  • Source & negotiate with suppliers and venues  
  • Build and test of virtual event platform including the customer journey 
  • Liaise with venue / platform supplier about requirements 
  • Compile relevant information for clients such as sponsor packs & awards information  
  • Sponsor fulfilment for events 
  • Creation of event signage and other materials and collateral 
  • Organise staffing plans and requirements to include task allocation, travel and accommodation booking 

Candidate Profile

ESSENTIAL 

  • 3+ years of proven experience in B2B Event Operations managing conferences and awards dinners 
  • Extensive experience of working on events in a corporate environment to include both operational management and budget control over £300,000 
  • Experience in venue contracting and negotiation over £300,000 
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills and able to work on several projects simultaneously 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Experience using digital systems & platforms 
  • Awareness of risk policies affecting international events such as vat, modern slavery, ant-bribery, trade sanctions etc. as well as the Event risk management & awareness framework 
  • Negotiation and contracting skills with venues and suppliers 
  • Proactive and takes initiative by being able to identify problems, research and evaluate options creatively and innovatively  
  • Self-management i.e., taking accountability and ownership of tasks 
  • Sharing knowledge, experience and giving advice to other team members

Compensation, Benefits and Work Authorization

In addition to a basic salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
