Position Overview

We are Green Street! To tell you a little about us, we are a global company with a head office in Newport Beach, California. Originally established 40 years ago, we are on a fast-paced growth trajectory and following several acquisitions we are now looking for an experienced People Advisor to support our newly acquired team at Locatus, based in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

 

Locatus are a team of 30 who work in a modern office space in the centre of Utrecht, just 5 minutes’ walk from Utrecht rail station. The Locatus team specialise in collecting information about retail stores, shopping areas and footfall. This data is used to inform the research and advisory services Green Street provides to its clients who invest in commercial real estate.

 

We are looking to recruit a talented and experienced People Advisor. You will be highly organized and a detail-oriented generalist who is comfortable working in a stand-alone role with support from an HRBP. You will work closely with the global People & Culture team to perform various HR operational tasks for our teams in the Netherlands and Belgium. Responsibilities include supporting the local team and fielding general employee questions, running local change management projects in partnership with the wider People & Culture team and partnering with various internal teams (payroll, IT, admin etc.) to support employee lifecycle management.

This role provides great exposure to full cycle People Operations within a growing, global organization. In addition to your People responsibilities, you will also act as Office Manager for the Utrecht office; taking ownership of local administrative tasks within the office to ensure it runs smoothly. This position is part-time requiring 3 days in the office and is a stand-alone role.

Job Responsibilities

People & Culture Support

  • Assist with the administration of local employee payments and benefits, including recording of weekly hours worked, overtime, meal vouchers, company cars etc.
  • Complete the monthly report for submission to payroll ensuring new joiner, leaver and all forms of absence are recorded accurately for payroll purposes
  • Provide support to local employees including handling local employee relations matters in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements and in partnership and with support from the People Business Partner
  • Work within internal HRIS systems and tools to streamline the employee lifecycle (onboarding, benefits enrollment, performance management, attendance and time off tracking, offboarding)
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including physical and electronic files
  • Support local HR Managers throughout the leave of absence process including providing guidance on leave entitlements and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Act as a point of contact for various employee questions such as benefits, leave of absence, performance reviews, time off requests etc.

Office Manager Support

  • Take responsibility for local office administration to ensure the smooth function of the office in Utrecht
  • Assist with organising local team events, such as quarterly town halls, holiday parties etc.
  • Work as part of the wider global Operations team to ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to

Ideal Experience

  • Previously worked in a stand-alone role and has sufficient experience to feel comfortable supporting employees with their queries and concerns
  • Experience working in a corporate, high performance environment preferred
  • Used to working with overseas colleagues; ideally including the US

Personal characteristics and practical skill sets

  • Proven ability to build trust, influence and advise key stakeholders
  • Willing to take responsibility and ownership of tasks, given this is a stand-alone role
  • Detail-oriented and engaging with a clear communication style
  • Flexible in style and approach, as well as adaptable to rapidly changing business priorities

Key Relationships

  • Reports to: VP, People & Culture – UK
  • Other key relationships: Regional leaders; Regional People & Culture team; Group People & Culture team and Senior Leadership Team

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience as an HR Coordinator or HR Generalist
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch employment law required and a working knowledge of Belgian employment law would be useful for this position
  • Excellent command of both Dutch (native speaker preferred) and English language, both spoken and written
  • Must be willing to work in-person in the office 3 days each week (part time hours will be acceptable for this position)

Compensation, Benefits and Work Authorization

In addition to a basic salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.

 

Green Street will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Holland without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
