Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, the Global Head of News Sales is a senior member of the Sales Leadership Team responsible for driving profitable growth aligned with the company’s overall objectives. This high-impact, high-visibility role is accountable for developing and executing revenue and business development strategies that deliver against monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

 

The News product is a premium digital subscription offering that delivers exclusive, market-moving news to a wide spectrum of clients in the commercial real estate and infrastructure sectors. This includes consultants, industry advisors, investors, lenders, brokers, and other market participants. The value proposition is anchored in timely, differentiated and exclusive scoop content supported by high-value proprietary data—such as transaction insights, league tables, and company profiles—which attracts daily readership across key global markets.

 

As Global Head of News Sales, you will provide strategic guidance and coaching support to grow and optimize the growing News subscription business. You will ensure the growing team of 20+ has the right leadership structure (lead/team leads), is well-trained, motivated, and equipped to achieve their individual and team sales goals.

 

The position has global responsibility for three core regions: North America, Europe, and Australia.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set and manage sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales targets for the global News subscription business
  • Maintain and grow sales volume by staying current with customer needs, competitive dynamics, and market trends
  • Lead sales forecasting with rigor, ensuring high accuracy and consistency in process and reporting
  • Create and maintain territory and account plans across key geographies
  • Use reporting and analytics to assess lead and pipeline quality; recommend improvements to sales operations and lead generation processes
  • Deliver business insights and KPIs to internal stakeholders to guide strategic decision-making
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to sellers and sales leaders within the News sales organization
  • Establish scalable sales best practices to increase lead conversion and win rates
  • Develop and execute customer-centric sales strategies to maximize revenue and market share for Green Street’s News products across all global titles and subsidiaries (e.g., Green Street News US, Green Street News Canada, Green Street News EU, and IJ Global)
  • Partner closely with product, marketing, and editorial teams to gather client feedback and influence enhancements to the News offering
  • Cultivate new and existing client relationships to expand market penetration and increase client lifetime value

Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of proven sales leadership experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding growth targets; experience managing global or regionally distributed teams preferred
  • Deep understanding of the value proposition behind premium subscription content in the data and analytics space
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels internally and externally
  • Experience selling into diverse customer segments such as consultants, investors, lenders, brokers, and advisors in commercial real estate and/or infrastructure markets
  • Demonstrated ability to lead sales teams through evolving strategies and priorities in fast-paced, data-driven environments
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com, SalesLoft, ZoomInfo, Chorus, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, deliver insights, and make strategic recommendations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA preferred
  • Experience working within or selling to the commercial real estate, infrastructure, or real asset investment community
  • Proven experience developing and executing a high-volume SMB go-to-market approach

Compensation, Benefits and Work Authorization

In addition to the posted base salary range, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.

USD $175,000.00 - USD $195,000.00 /Yr.
