Position Overview

We are Green Street!  To tell you a little about us, we are a global company with a head office in Newport Beach, California.  Originally established 40 years ago, we are on a fast-paced growth trajectory and following several acquisitions we are now looking for an experienced People Manager to support our newly acquired team at Locatus, based in Utrecht, The Netherlands.  

 

Locatus are a team of 30 who work in a modern office space in the centre of Utrecht, just 5 minutes’ walk from Utrecht rail station.  The Locatus team specialise in collecting information about retail stores, shopping areas and footfall.  This data is used to inform the research and advisory services Green Street provides to its clients who invest in commercial real estate. 

 

We are looking to recruit a talented and experienced Manager who will be part of the global Green Street People & Culture team and will partner with us in supporting the Locatus team.  The candidate will need to be a highly organised, experienced generalist with solid working knowledge of local employment law and extensive knowledge and practical experience of all the main HR lifecycle processes and procedures e.g. recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, capability and performance improvement plans, formal disciplinaries, redundancies, compensation and benefits.   

 

The People & Culture Manager will work closely with Green Street leadership to support growth objectives and therefore experience of managing change processes which comply with local laws will be important. 

This position is a stand-alone role which spans a broad range of responsibilities, including partnering with the leaders at Locatus to support and advise them on matters of performance management, organizational change processes and talent management. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of local People & Culture initiatives and programs, reflecting the mission, business goals, and core values of the company
  • Act as People & Culture business partner to local leaders; advising and partnering in talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement and career development
  • Champions the company culture and values and fosters a collaborative, results-focused and inclusive environment
  • Ensures compliance with international and local employment laws and regulations
  • Handles local employee relations matters in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements
  • Helps to build and implement leading People & Culture policies and practices to support global growth  
  • Supports our global talent acquisition team with local recruitment, including defining job specs, interviewing candidates, onboarding and training in line with global processes
  • Partners with local leadership and global/regional People & Culture to ensure effective communications
  • Establishes credibility throughout the organization as a strategic contributor by providing thought leadership, best practices and continuous improvement
  • Helps with diligence on potential acquisitions and integration thereafter as appropriate

Key Relationships

  • Reports to: VP, People & Culture - UK
  • Other key relationships: Regional leaders; Regional People & Culture team; Group People & Culture team – US, and Senior Leadership Team

Candidate Profile

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience at HR Manager level
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch employment law and a working knowledge of Belgian employment law
  • Excellent command of both Dutch (native speaker preferred) and English language, both spoken and written 

Ideal Experience 

  • Human resources leadership/business partner experience: Experience partnering with and advising business leaders, ideally in a fast-paced, global environment. Brings an understanding of how talent and culture fits with strategy
  • Organisational development: Experience working in a high-growth high-performance environment preferred.  Experience helping an organization to integrate after an acquisition
  • Change management experience: Hands-on experience working on the HR aspects of change management will be important
  • Global experience: Experience working with a global workforce – preferably coupled with experience of a growing matrixed structure where teams are distributed across the globe

  • Ready to do, as well as to manage

  • Flexible in style and approach, as well as adaptable to rapidly changing business priorities
  • Comfortable working in a firm deadline/tomorrow is too late environment
  • Experience with HRIS systems, AI, talent acquisition systems 

Compensation, Benefits and Work Authorization

In addition to a basic salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.

 

Green Street will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Holland without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
